Colour Mill Booster is a Colour Enhance product from the Colour Mill oil blend range — designed to be used alongside your existing Colour Mill shades to push a color further when you need more depth and intensity.
Like the rest of the oil blend range, Booster is completely oil based, so it disperses evenly through the fats in your bake and works in the same mixtures you already use it in — without seizing chocolate or thinning your buttercream.
How bakers use it:
- Deepening intense shades such as red, black and navy
- Reaching a stronger final tone without adding excessive color
- Working alongside any Colour Mill oil blend shade
Why bakers choose Colour Mill:
- Made with pigments (not dyes) for deep, fade-resistant color
- Free from fillers & gums — highly concentrated, so a little goes a long way
- Blends smoothly without seizing chocolate or thinning buttercream
- Available in 20ml and 100ml bottles
Yeast Bakers is an Authorized Dealer for Colour Mill — genuine stock, shipped from Tampa, FL. Free shipping on orders over $25.
How to use it
How to use it
Add a few drops at a time and mix thoroughly before judging the shade. Colour Mill oil blend is concentrated, so start lighter than you think you need.
Let it rest. Color continues developing for two to four hours as the pigment fully disperses. Mix slightly lighter than your target and let it sit. For deep shades such as red, black or navy, mix the day before.
Works in: buttercream, chocolate and compound coating, ganache, macaron batter, cake batter, fondant, cookie dough and royal icing.
Why oil based matters
Why oil based matters
Chocolate and most frostings are fat systems. Water based coloring introduced into chocolate causes it to seize into a thick, grainy mess that cannot be brought back.
An oil based color disperses evenly through fat instead of fighting it, so you get clean color without seizing, thinning or streaking.
If you decorate with chocolate, ganache or buttercream, the carrier on the label matters more than the shade on the front of the bottle. Read the full comparison.
